New Study Reveals: 15 Minutes of Daily Movement Can Extend Lifespan

A recent scientific study conducted by researchers at King Saud University’s College of Medicine revealed that simple daily movement, even just 15 minutes, can have a significant impact on overall health and extend lifespan.
The researchers found that people who engage in moderate physical activity for 15 minutes daily, such as brisk walking or light household chores, have up to a 14% lower risk of premature death compared to those who remain completely inactive.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Mahna, head of the research team, explained that “the results confirm that exercise is not limited to gyms or intense workouts, but even simple daily movement has a significant positive impact on health.”
The study included more than 5,000 participants from various age groups in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, and lasted for two years. Researchers used movement tracking devices to accurately measure physical activity levels.
This study comes within the framework of national efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, as the Ministry of Health recently launched the “15 Minutes Change Your Life” campaign to encourage citizens to engage in daily movement.
Previous studies had linked lack of movement to increased risks of heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, but this study is the first of its kind in the Kingdom to demonstrate the benefits of even simple movement.
It’s worth noting that the World Health Organization recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week, but the Saudi study shows that even less than that can make a difference.
These results are good news for those who suffer from time constraints or difficulty adhering to intensive exercise programs, as they prove that good health requires only a little regular daily movement.
