شهدت المملكة العربية السعودية احتفالات واسعة باليوم الوطني للتأسيس الذي يصادف 22 فبراير من كل عام، وذلك بمشاركة جميع القطاعات الحكومية والخاصة والمواطنين في مختلف مناطق المملكة.
وقد أكد الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء، أن الاحتفال بهذا اليوم يأتي لتعميق الاعتزاز بالجذور الراسخة لهذه الدولة المباركة، وارتباط مواطنيها الوثيق بقادتها منذ عهد الإمام محمد بن سعود قبل ثلاثة قرون وحتى عهد خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود.
وأضاف ولي العهد في تصريحات صحفية: “نحتفل بذكرى تأسيس الدولة السعودية الأولى على يد الإمام محمد بن سعود عام 1139هـ الموافق 1727م، لنؤكد على الهوية السعودية الأصيلة التي توارثناها عبر الأجيال، والتي تقوم على الوسطية والاعتدال والتسامح”.
من جانبه، أوضح وزير الثقافة الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن فرحان آل سعود أن اليوم الوطني للتأسيس يمثل فرصة لتسليط الضوء على الإرث الثقافي والتاريخي العريق للمملكة، حيث تم إطلاق العديد من الفعاليات والأنشطة الثقافية والتراثية في مختلف المناطق.
وأشارت الإحصائيات الرسمية إلى أن أكثر من 10 آلاف فعالية احتفالية نظمت في مختلف مدن ومناطق المملكة بمناسبة اليوم الوطني للتأسيس، شارك فيها ملايين المواطنين والمقيمين.
وتضمنت الاحتفالات عروضاً فنية وتراثية وثقافية، بالإضافة إلى مسيرات وعروض جوية وبرامج ترفيهية متنوعة. كما شهدت العاصمة الرياض وعدد من المدن الرئيسية عروضاً للألعاب النارية أضاءت سماء المملكة ابتهاجاً بهذه المناسبة الغالية على قلوب السعوديين.
وفي سياق متصل، أكد خبراء ومؤرخون سعوديون أن الاحتفال باليوم الوطني للتأسيس يمثل رسالة مهمة لتعزيز الانتماء الوطني والهوية السعودية في نفوس الأجيال الجديدة، وترسيخ القيم والمبادئ التي قامت عليها الدولة السعودية منذ تأسيسها.
وفي الختام، تؤكد المملكة من خلال الاحتفال باليوم الوطني للتأسيس على عمق جذورها التاريخية وقوتها الحضارية، وقدرتها على مواصلة مسيرة التنمية والازدهار في ظل قيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود وولي عهده الأمين، وفقاً لرؤية المملكة 2030 الطموحة.

A recent scientific study conducted by public health experts has revealed intriguing findings about the impact of simple daily movement on human health and longevity. According to the study, which involved participants from various age groups, adding just 15 minutes of physical activity daily can have a significant positive effect on overall health.

The study, conducted by a team of researchers at the Public Health Institute over a year-long period, monitored individuals who were accustomed to a sedentary lifestyle. The participants were asked to incorporate 15 minutes of walking or light physical activity into their daily routine. The results showed notable improvements in several health indicators, including blood pressure and blood sugar levels, as well as enhanced mood and daily energy levels.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Ali, the study’s supervisor, commented: “The surprise was in the extent of the impact this small amount of movement had on the overall health of the individuals. We observed clear improvements in multiple health indicators after a short period of starting the experiment.”

The researchers added that these findings emphasize the importance of simple movement in daily life and could serve as a gateway to improving public health for a wide range of people, especially those who find it challenging to commit to intensive exercise programs.

On the 275th anniversary of the founding of the First Saudi State, we recall the life of its founding leader, King Muhammad bin Saud bin Muhammad bin Muqrin (1090-1179 AH). With his political acumen and military courage, he laid the foundation for what would later become the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

King Muhammad bin Saud was born in Diriyah in 1090 AH and grew up in the ruling Al Muqrin family. He assumed the emirate of Diriyah in 1139 AH. In 1157 AH, he signed a historic agreement with Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab, leading to a powerful alliance between political and religious forces, paving the way for the establishment of the First Saudi State in 1157 AH.

During his 40-year reign, King Muhammad bin Saud successfully unified most of the Najd regions under the banner of the young Saudi state. The state’s influence during his time extended to include Al-Qassim, Al-Ahsa, and southern Iraq, reaching the current borders of Kuwait.

Historians praised King Muhammad bin Saud’s wisdom, his ability to build a strong and organized army, and establish balanced diplomatic relations with neighboring countries. His reign was also characterized by the application of Islamic Sharia in all aspects of life and the encouragement of science and education.

King Muhammad bin Saud passed away in 1179 AH, leaving behind a great legacy and a strong state. His son and successor, Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad bin Saud, said of him: “My father, may Allah have mercy on him, was a righteous man, just in his rule, beloved by his subjects, and striving for their interests.”

Today, centuries later, the principles and values of King Muhammad bin Saud still form the basic reference for governance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His wise leadership and far-sighted vision paved the way for the unification of the country and the building of a strong modern state, standing today as a testament to the greatness of this founding leader.

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Deputy Governor of the Asir Region, honored Engineer Saleh bin Abdul Karim Al-Mugamis, Mayor of Tanumah, with the Government Excellence Award for 2023, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in developing municipal services and improving the quality of life in the region.

Al-Mugamis received the award during a ceremony organized by the Asir Region Emirate, attended by several officials and those interested in municipal work. His Highness praised the tangible achievements made by the Tanumah Municipality under Al-Mugamis’s leadership, emphasizing the importance of honoring distinguished leaders who contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

In a statement, Al-Mugamis expressed his pride and honor at this recognition, affirming that it is the fruit of collective work and continuous support from the wise leadership. He added: “We will continue to work diligently to develop municipal services and achieve the aspirations of the region’s residents.”

It is worth noting that the Tanumah Municipality witnessed significant improvements in infrastructure and municipal services during Al-Mugamis’s tenure, making it a model to be emulated in the region.

The “Winter at Tantora” festival kicked off its fifth edition in AlUla on February 25, 2023, with wide participation from Saudi and Arab artists and creatives, as part of the Royal Commission for AlUla’s efforts to enhance the city’s status as a leading tourist and cultural destination.

The festival, running until March 11, features over 140 diverse events, including musical concerts, theatrical and artistic performances, creative workshops, and interactive activities for children and families. Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, emphasized that the festival aims to “highlight the unique cultural and natural heritage of the AlUla region and provide a platform for Saudi artists and creatives to express their talents and creativity.”

The opening ceremony featured a grand musical performance by the AlUla Symphony Orchestra and the Middle East Music Band, conducted by Spanish maestro Pablo Gonzalez. It also included spectacular fireworks displays and dazzling light shows on the historic rock facades of AlUla.

The Governor noted that the festival contributes to supporting the local economy and providing job opportunities for residents, with over 2,000 workers this year, the majority of whom are from AlUla.

Visitors can enjoy a wide range of cultural and entertainment experiences, including visits to famous archaeological sites like Madain Saleh and Al-Hijr, participation in workshops to learn traditional handicrafts, and attending documentary film screenings at the open-air cinema.

The “Winter at Tantora” festival is part of a series of events organized by the Royal Commission for AlUla throughout the year, aiming to achieve Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of diversifying the economy and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s status as a global tourist destination.
