Saudi citizens are celebrating today the first annual anniversary of #Founding_Day, which falls on February 22nd each year. This day symbolizes the beginning of the establishment of the First Saudi State by Imam Mohammed bin Saud in 1727 AD, representing an important milestone in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On this day, we recall a rich history spanning more than three centuries, where the journey of unification and construction began. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz confirmed in a speech on the occasion of #Founding_Day that “this precious memory dear to all our hearts represents the historical, civilizational, and cultural depth of the Kingdom.”
The Kingdom has witnessed remarkable development in various fields over the past years, as the gross domestic product rose from 833 billion riyals in 1999 to 3 trillion riyals in 2022, according to the General Authority for Statistics.
The Kingdom has also witnessed a qualitative leap in the field of education, as government spending on education increased from 21.1% of total expenditure in 2015 to 23.9% in 2022, according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
Celebrating #Founding_Day is not just a historical occasion, but rather a reminder of the importance of unity, stability, and development that the Kingdom has witnessed since its establishment.
