Al-Hilal’s Valuable Victory Puts Them at the Top of the Saudi League

Al-Hilal Saudi Club achieved an important victory over their counterpart Al-Ittihad with two clean goals in the match that brought them together within the 17th round of the Saudi Roshan League, maintaining their lead in the league with 42 points.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, before Al-Hilal succeeded in scoring two goals in the second half through Salem Al-Dawsari and Abdullah Atif in the 74th and 90th minutes respectively.
With this victory, Al-Hilal raised their tally to 42 points at the top of the league, 3 points ahead of their closest pursuers Al-Nassr, while Al-Ittihad’s tally remained frozen at 30 points in fourth place.
Al-Hilal coach Razvan Lucescu expressed his happiness with the victory, noting that his team delivered a great match against a difficult opponent.
Lucescu said in the press conference after the match: “We delivered a great match against a strong and organized team. We deserved the victory and the three points.”
He added: “I thank the players for the great effort they made in the match. We continue our journey towards achieving the title.”
On the other hand, Al-Ittihad coach Nuno Santo acknowledged Al-Hilal’s right to victory, explaining that his team was not at its best.
Santo said: “Al-Hilal was better and more deserving of victory. We did not show the required level and lost the match points.”
He added: “We will work on correcting mistakes and returning strongly in the upcoming matches.”
With this victory, Al-Hilal continues its strong start in the league, having achieved 13 victories, 3 draws, and only one loss, scoring 40 goals and conceding only 14 goals.
On the other hand, Al-Ittihad suffered its third loss this season, with 9 victories and 3 draws, scoring 28 goals and conceding 15 goals.
Al-Hilal is preparing for a strong confrontation against Al-Nassr in the upcoming round’s summit, while Al-Ittihad will play against Al-Fayha.
